The County of Santa Barbara Citizens Independent Redistricting Commission (CIRC) will finalize its recommendations for county redistricting process improvements at its virtual meeting on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 6:00 p.m.

During the first quarter of 2022, the CIRC issued a public survey to solicit feedback from the public and CIRC commissioners. The survey requested information regarding the first county redistricting process since the passage of the voter-approved Measure G. Measure G changed the process for the decennial revisions to the districts used to elect members of the Board of Supervisors.

While it is not within the scope of the current commission to enact any CIRC recommendations made at its upcoming meeting, the commission seeks to acknowledge redistricting process challenges and share potential adjustments to the governing ordinance or operational procedures of future commissions.
